The wedding of Emilie & Benjamin at Château de Seguin
A wedding at Château de Seguin is the perfect blend of romance and elegance, even under a light rain. This was the setting chosen by Emilie and Benjamin to celebrate their union, surrounded by their loved ones. From the preparations, the emotion and the bond between the couple were tangible, creating a warm atmosphere despite the gray skies. Every detail, from Emilie’s dress to the carefully chosen decorations, told a unique story. Between the tender “first look,” an improvised civil ceremony under a shelter, and a couple’s photo session bathed in soft light, every moment was magical.

The preparations
After a morning engagement session at Cap Ferret, I met Emilie and Benjamin for their big day at Château de Seguin in Lignan-de-Bordeaux. Despite a light rain from the morning, the warm atmosphere and the couple’s excitement lit up this romantic setting.
Emilie, surrounded by her family and friends, prepares in the bright conservatory of the château, where hairstyling and makeup take place. Meanwhile, Benjamin, accompanied by his brother, gets ready in a playful atmosphere, providing perfect moments to capture beautiful portraits of him.
The first look
Every detail of the wedding is carefully thought out: from the invitations to the bouquet, including Emilie’s accessories and the decorations. Once ready, Emilie slips into an elegant backless gown, assisted by her mother in a private moment full of emotion.
The “first look” takes place in the conservatory. Benjamin, all smiles, waits patiently for Emilie, who descends the stairs with grace. Their gazes meet, and the moment is suspended in time. Moved, Benjamin admires Emilie in her beautiful dress, a tender and powerful moment.
Civil union
After this unforgettable encounter, we head to the Gujan-Mestras Town Hall for the civil union. Emilie and Benjamin exchange their vows surrounded by their loved ones in a joyful and tender atmosphere. Applause and smiles mark this key moment as the newlyweds exit the town hall, radiant despite the threatening sky.
Secular ceremony
Back at Château de Seguin, the rain forces us to improvise. The guests help rearrange the space for the ceremony under a sheltered area, and in no time, everything is ready for this solemn moment. Benjamin makes an emotional entrance with his mother, followed by Emilie, who walks down the aisle with her father.
The speeches from the witnesses and friends follow, filled with personal anecdotes and touching moments. These heartfelt interventions add an intimate touch to the ceremony, deepening the connection and emotions shared by everyone present.
Cocktail
Despite the rain, the cocktail hour takes place in a friendly and festive atmosphere. Guests gather under the shelters to share laughter, conversations, and games. Émilie organizes a ribbon game, a fun alternative to the traditional bouquet toss, which entertains and surprises everyone.
Couple photoshoot
During a break in the weather, we sneak away for a photo session in the castle park. The soft twilight light provides the perfect setting to capture moments of closeness and tenderness. Émilie and Benjamin play along naturally, and the photos reflect their sincere love and joy of life.
As night falls, the festivities continue in the reception hall. Émilie and Benjamin open the evening with an emotional first dance, under the amazed gazes of their loved ones. The music, soft lighting, and festive atmosphere create a magical moment where love is at the heart of everything.
Despite the unpredictable weather, this day was filled with joy, emotion, and unforgettable memories. You can discover more magical weddings by following me on Instagram @xavier.b.photography.. See you soon!
